Phrasing a new coin..

The Indian Rupee gets a symbol-woot!-thus distinguishing it from other countries which have the rupee as their currency. But, they say, the symbol will not be seen in print on our currency notes-not just yet. That will take a while, and I can't wait for it. Getting the symbol means international brand recognition, the INR joining the elite club of currencies like the Japanese Yen, Euro, the British pound or the US dollar. And, how can I forget, it was apparently designed by an IITian. Congratulations, Pranab Mukherjee and the ministry.
One way to go about the international popularization of the symbol is printing and circulating, and another is branding the symbol on keyboards. So once the symbol is passed by the required authorities, we're gonna have the symbol on Indian keyboards-cool eh?
For some unfathomable reason, I'm all excited about the INR getting a symbol! It somehow comes off as very 'Indian', because of the adaptation from the Devanagiri script. A pretty picture, a symbol with a history creating history.

    So awesome that it's gonna be included in the UNICODE standard!! We people here study about unicode and somebody out there - an IITian creates a symbol that enters the standard... I'm also waiting. . .

Of Phoenix Tears and Unicorn Blood..

8th std, 1st hour, Math class: I forget to take my Math notes to class. A very senior,quite strict teacher handling Math. She walks in, and I'm almost ready to walk out.(Read as get thrown out). Before she begins the routine of asking students without notes to walk out, I go up and tell her I don't have my notes, and that I'm extremely sorry. She says it's ok! Shedding Skin

I was reading "Inheritance", Eragon's sequel 4 last week, and somewhere in between the story, the protagonist reaches a point where he needs to know his true name to open a vault (I did not say spoiler alert, because I think all of you would've read it way earlier than me, not to mention this is not a spoiler which people would want to kill me for.) --Which reminds me of a very famous spoiler I was at the receiving end of-- In 2005, when Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince had just released, my friends and I stood in the queue from 6a.m to get hold of a copy, so that we'd read it before anyone else did, and so that nobody could spoil it for us.
